MetaShare gets a new home page, smarter navigation, increased accessibility and updated design

After extensive development work and a successful collaboration with UX agency Klingit, MetaShare is now available in a better looking, smarter and more user-friendly interface. The improved experience is based on user input, new design guidelines from Microsoft, and accessibility requirements from WCAG.

The MetaShare document management app is designed to simplify and improve how organizations manage documents. It works by using metadata to help users quickly find the right document.

– If SharePoint is a standardized, turnkey house, we architected MetaShare to manage documents in Microsoft 365 in a whole new way using metadata. MetaShare finds documents no matter where they are stored in Microsoft 365, has automatic reminder functions, and enables automatic sorting and archiving,” says Carl Mårn, founder of Ways, the company behind MetaShare.

Smarter, cleaner and more accessible interface

The new MetaShare experience is based on input from the approximately 30,000 users, a four-month collaboration with Klingit, new design guidelines from Microsoft, and accessibility requirements from WCAG.

The new interface is largely about getting a more clear and easy-to-navigate home page with the ability to favorite content and a completely new design of the forms for metadata insertion of documents. The basic principle is that it should be as easy as possible to tag documents with metadata.

In addition, the development team has redesigned the app’s navigation to harmonize with the new home page and meet accessibility requirements. This includes improved support for digital assistive technologies, improved keyboard navigation and more keyboard shortcuts.
